"Pride and prejudice". Jane Austen

The Bennet’s  life changes with the sudden arrival in their home town of a wealthy young gentleman and his best friend, Mr. Darcy, who is attractive, yet arrogant and introvert. The story, set in the 19th century in the English countryside, is focused on the relationship that flourishes between the Bennet’s second daughter, Elisabeth, and the well positioned Mr. Darcy, who ends up falling in love with her, a woman of lower social status and as witty and proud as him.

This is one of the timeless works by the well-known British writer, Jane Austen, first publicised in 1813. As well as the other well-known Austen’s novels, it is rich in vocabulary, drama and romanticism and full of clever dialogues and satirical remarks.

Definitely, “Pride and Prejudice” is one of those novels that can be read many times and enjoyed over and over again, because of the great talent of the writer, the charming personalities of their characters, the romanticism that is described in the stories and the beauty of the narrative itself, which usually describes a romantic relationship, the dances of that period, the English landscapes, social manners...
